Can Kylo sense their general aura? Oh, totally, go for it. Link's general aura would be like a little bundle of Hero. He's just an all-around Good Guy who genuinely wants to Help People, and even though he's fairly quiet and sometimes a doormat, he has a backbone of steel. Plus, he both is and isn't his age -- still a kid, but there's been some weird timey wimey shenanigans that forced him to mature very quickly.
On a sliding scale of light-to-dark, where does your character fall, and can Kylo notice this? Kylo is welcome to notice that Link is LIGHT AF. He's extremely motivated by others, self-sacrificial to a fault. He's driven by duty, but underneath that, he's also driven by a need to prove himself as being Good and Having Worth. He really wants to feel like he belongs, but he never does.
Is Kylo allowed to tell when they're lying or hiding something? Heckie yeah. And he's actually prone to trying to hide things a lot. He doesn't really lie? But he tries to deflect away from talking about the things that have happened to him.
This is a big one: is Kylo allowed to use the Force to rummage through your character's thoughts and/or memories and extract information? Oh man. If this ever comes up, I'm totally down with it. Given Link's Hero Spirit (I'll talk about that below), that might end up going weird? Not so much Link turning it around on him (idk what all doing that would entail so I'll just err on the side of no), but Kylo might get more than he bargained for if he's just expecting a 10yo kid.
JEDI MIND TRICKS Y/N? I don't mind Kylo trying, but it likely wouldn't work out, 'cause Link definitely has a strong mind and will. He's susceptible to thoughts like "doing X will help person Y," though, so that might be worth exploring?
Force jumps and you? (AKA: Force assault and you?) I wanna say Results May Vary on this one? Mostly for the sake of what might be fun in a thread at any given time. Let's deffo talk this one out if it ever comes up!
Finally, does your character have any special powers beyond that of a baseline human? HOOOOOO BOY. Okay, so. First, I'll go into Link's powers and how he uses them, but then I'll talk about the Hero's Spirit.
Link has innate magic that he can tap into and channel outward through magic items. This way, he can add magic to his sword spins for extra damage, charge up magical arrows, so on and so forth. He doesn't know how to use magic without the items, though. He also has basic precognition abilities, manifesting through dreams, and he's sensitive to when the balance between good and evil is being messed with. That isn't something he can consciously control, but for the powers that he can, he uses them for self-defense and in the defense of other people.
So. Hero's Spirit. Basically, a long long long time ago, a different Link was cursed to have his Heroic Spirit reincarnated over and over, always fated to Fight Evil. This Link has that Heroic Spirit. In addition, he's the chosen bearer of the Triforce of Courage. If you're unfamiliar, the Triforce is an artifact made from deific power that, when whole, can grant the wishes of anyone who touches it, even going so far as being able to shape the world. (It's said if someone evil touches the Triforce, then the world will be turned into a desolate wasteland, and if someone good touches it, then it'll turn it into a chosen land instead, etc.) Aaaand Link's soul has been selected as the Triforce of Courage's favorite person. Yep.
And, if Kylo could pick this up, there's also all of the crazy time shenanigans. Given that he was kept in a stasis for seven years, spat out as a teenager, went back and forth between the past and the future for a while, before finally being sent back to his childhood for good, and in the process of all of that, his world's timeline was broken into many fun-sized pieces. And THEN, as if that wasn't bad enough, he fucked off to another land where he got stuck in a groundhog day loop from hell... that HE triggers the reset of... yeah.
I lied. One more question. Can Kylo destroy your character's stuff? Depends on the stuff in question. The Ocarina of Time really shouldn't get wrecked, since it can't be replaced, and certain masks might be magical and so weird things might happen, but let's shelve this one under "let's figure it out when we get there," too.
