CANON: Star Wars: The Force Awakens, from the end of the movie—he was lying wounded in the snow on Starkiller Base.
AGE: Physically 29. Emotionally about 15.
APPEARANCE: DEM EARS Tall, gangly, usually walking around with his fists clenched. His helmet didn't come with him, so everyone gets to see the kicking rad scar across his face.
LANGUAGE: Fluent in Basic and Shyriiwook, has probably picked up a few choice phrases (...the kind that would be used around a sabacc table) in various other languages.

JOB: Intelligence Operative (works closely with Hold Workforce Officers and Navigation), Ship Cleaning

PHYSICAL AFFECTION: I can't imagine it'll be anything other than exceedingly awkward, but if exceedingly awkward is your thing GO FOR IT. It's—hahahaha—possible he'll react violently, depending on the context, but then that's pretty much always a possibility.
PHYSICAL VIOLENCE: YES PLEASE I mean what. Most of the time this guy's spoiling for a fight, so by all means, give him an excuse to wreck shit. Just bear in mind that things may escalate really, really quickly, given his powers and, uh, temperament.
INJURY/DEATH: Ask first, but I am not at all opposed. (I mean, let's not kill him thirty times, guys. Show some restraint.)
TELEPATHY/MINDREADING: Ask first so we can work out the details! While he's theoretically adept at shielding his mind from other Force users, he's also a huge fucking mess, so it'll absolutely be possible to catch him off guard. He might be more vulnerable—or vulnerable in different ways—to other kinds of telepathy, and I'd love to play with that.
PROPERTY DAMAGE: Look, he's constantly breaking other people's shit, it's only fair that they be able to respond in kind.
RELATIONSHIPS: What's wrong with you. No but really, I'm expecting a ton of negative CR AND I WILL BE DISAPPOINTED IF I DON'T GET IT.

Hello and welcome to Baby's First Permissions Post! This is literally my first time playing a character with powers of any kind, so please bear with me as we embark on this adventure together.

FIRST, AND MOST IMPORTANTLY: I love IC consequences. I live for IC consequences. Kylo Ren is an extremely powerful Force user who is also a massive baby and a huge tool, and I fully expect him to get in a lot of trouble pulling the shit he pulls (more on the shit he pulls later). I promise I'm not playing him to show off how awesome he is. As long as it doesn't render him unplayable, I am probably down with any kind of IC consequence, especially if it makes him look like an idiot or encourages him to reflect, a little, on his terrible life choices (ideally both!). Please don't be shy about this—I'm actually looking forward to it, especially since it could ultimately lead to him becoming a—dare I say it?—better person. All I ask is that you drop me a note in advance!

Okay, so. Although Kylo Ren is from the Star Wars universe, he's technically neither Jedi nor Sith—he's a Master of the Knights of Ren (I'll pause so everyone can roll their eyes), a faction that arose sometime after the Galactic Civil War (i.e. the events of the original trilogy). They're affiliated with the dark side of the Force—as he'd be the first to tell you, Kylo Ren derives his power from the dark side! Which is more aggressive, manipulative, and just generally less respectful than the light. He abuses the hell out of his powers (“moderation” and “self-control” are pretty much foreign concepts to him), so if these permissions seem crazy in-depth, it's only because I want everyone to know what they're getting into.

Fill out as much or as little as you'd like—the nice thing about the Force is that there are exceptions to pretty much anything. And even if you do give permission here, I'll always check before doing anything more extensive than sensing your character via the Force.
