Hello and welcome to Baby's First Permissions Post! This is literally my first time playing a character with powers of any kind, so please bear with me as we embark on this adventure together.
FIRST, AND MOST IMPORTANTLY: I love IC consequences. I live for IC consequences. Kylo Ren is an extremely powerful Force user who is also a massive baby and a huge tool, and I fully expect him to get in a lot of trouble pulling the shit he pulls (more on the shit he pulls later). I promise I'm not playing him to show off how awesome he is. As long as it doesn't render him unplayable, I am probably down with any kind of IC consequence, especially if it makes him look like an idiot or encourages him to reflect, a little, on his terrible life choices (ideally both!). Please don't be shy about this—I'm actually looking forward to it, especially since it could ultimately lead to him becoming a—dare I say it?—better person. All I ask is that you drop me a note in advance!
Okay, so. Although Kylo Ren is from the Star Wars universe, he's technically neither Jedi nor Sith—he's a Master of the Knights of Ren (I'll pause so everyone can roll their eyes), a faction that arose sometime after the Galactic Civil War (i.e. the events of the original trilogy). They're affiliated with the dark side of the Force—as he'd be the first to tell you, Kylo Ren derives his power from the dark side! Which is more aggressive, manipulative, and just generally less respectful than the light. He abuses the hell out of his powers (“moderation” and “self-control” are pretty much foreign concepts to him), so if these permissions seem crazy in-depth, it's only because I want everyone to know what they're getting into.
Fill out as much or as little as you'd like—the nice thing about the Force is that there are exceptions to pretty much anything. And even if you do give permission here, I'll always check before doing anything more extensive than sensing your character via the Force.
Can Kylo sense their general aura?
NOT GONNA LIE he will pull this crap with almost everyone he meets, especially as a new arrival. Think of this as your character's mental and emotional disposition—not who they present themselves as but who they are (in the most general sense).
On a sliding scale of light-to-dark, where does your character fall, and can Kylo notice this?
This is mostly self-explanatory (I hope), but basically: what impulses govern your character's actions? Are they a killer? An aspiring killer? Have they dabbled in dark magic? Bathed in the tears of children?
Conversely, are they compassionate and self-sacrificing? Always looking out for the welfare of others? A literal golden retriever? (Just kidding, if you play a dog you should fill out my dog permissions post.)

And how often would they try it?
This is a big one: is Kylo allowed to use the Force to rummage through your character's thoughts and/or memories and extract information?
Since this isn't a standard-issue Force ability, an brief explanation: where traditional interrogation methods fail, Kylo's able to delve into someone's thoughts for answers. The process isn't simple, or clear-cut—when he tries the technique on Rey, he begins by empathizing with her, saying, “You're so lonely,” and describing what she pictures before falling asleep at night. Plunging into another person's mind requires a great deal of effort and focus—it's not like flipping through an index until you find what you're looking for. This can be extremely painful, if the subject's resistant (or if Kylo's just in a shitty mood).
If this happens in a thread, we will definitely talk it through in advance, so I won't ask for specific details now. (There's also a very, very slim chance of the technique being turned on Kylo himself—if you want to explore this, let me know.)
JEDI MIND TRICKS Y/N?
This is honestly a little subtle for Kylo's tastes (he favors telekinetically dragging people down hallways), but there's always a chance he might try to pull a mind trick on your character. These are usually simple suggestions, and only work on weak-minded individuals. If you think your character has a particularly strong mind, don't hesitate to opt out.

Can Kylo use the Force to move your character around? And if so, would you like to impose any limitations on this? Canonically, he's used the Force to suspend a blaster bolt in midair for the duration of an entire conversation, drag a First Order officer over to him with no apparent effort, and render someone immobile even as she struggles against him with all her might.

And how do they use them? To hurt people, or to help? Where do their powers come from? If you're canon-familiar, any thoughts on how their powers would interact with the Force?

Can Kylo sense their general aura? Sure. He's generally emotional, erratic, and self-loathing. HOW UNFAMILIAR

His motives are primarily selfish, but occasionally he flops to the side of dumb self-sacrificing bullshit. He's killed before and would do it again, for survival or out of anger. How tediously edgy.

Finally, does your character have any special powers beyond that of a baseline human? vorrick can sense magic, and sort of feeds off of it. he can also drain it from objects/people and release it to disrupt spellcasters. this is all baseline to his species, so shrugging man emote. he p much exclusively uses them to meet his physiological needs/defend himself in a pinch.

Yes. Lacking any knowledge of their relationship in his time, she doesn't really have reason to lie to him, though.

Yes, but he's pretty familiar with that--more than she is, frankly. At this time, the only way she interacts with the Force is through unconscious guidance from it. Being Force-sensitive makes her a better politician, and that's about it.

Can Kylo sense their general aura? Sure. Alice generally tries to bottle up her emotions, but she's a fairly angry person beneath the veneer of calm. She feels a bit lost in life, and orients herself using curiousity and loyalty (to individuals).
On a sliding scale of light-to-dark, where does your character fall, and can Kylo notice this? ahaha uh. i have no clue. she helped....... destroy some planets to protect people she liked and would have kept doing that for p much as long as it took. on the other hand she's literally self-sacrificing for people she likes and generally favours order, logic, and not giving in to one's id. WAVES HANDS VAGUELY

Is Kylo allowed to tell when they're lying or hiding something? Maybe? Wanda has some pretty strong mental powers of her own so let me know if it comes up. She can be cagey sometimes but Wanda's not really in the habit of outright lying.

He's certainly welcome to try but Wanda will resist and might try to turn the tables and pull a Rey on him. I don't think he could overpower her unless she's severely compromised in some way.

Finally, does your character have any special powers beyond that of a baseline human? YEP. Wanda's powers can be divided into several basic functions: telepathy/mind reading, telekinesis, energy(?) projection/"magic", and mental manipulation. Jury's out on exactly what the red energy is since the writers are staying vague about her powers, but in-game it's been called both energy and magic. Her permissions post is here and you can see it in action on her visualocities. Nowadays she uses them for good, though she might make questionable moral decisions if certain buttons get pressed.
Her powers are artificial and come from HYDRA messing around with the Maximoff twins and Loki's scepter/the Mind Stone. Wanda herself is not aware of exactly what they did to her.
As for how her powers interact with the Force, I think Kylo would definitely be able to tell right away that something's Not Normal about her. Again, canon is vague so please feel free to hit me up on Plurk or PM if you have questions or things you want to do.

IIRC, droids don't register to Force users-- at least, not in the old EU books. Rinzler's a computer program, so I'd assume no on the sensing things? LET ME KNOW IF I'M WRONG, though, I'm super cool with it oocly and will edit... pretty much all of the following things.

Very much so. Rinzler's got canon superspeed/strength (he makes his own 15+ foot jumps, ironically), security program scans/tracking, and built in laser disks that return to him automatically. He's also got ~1300 years of combat experience and is the most terrible showoff the world has ever seen.

On a sliding scale of light-to-dark, where does your character fall, and can Kylo notice this? LIGHT SIDE LIGHT SIDE LIGHT SIDE LIGHT SIDE. Frisk is a vehement pacifist and refuses to cause harm to anyone if they can help it--to the point they have literally died upholding this code. Mmmmmmmultiple times. Undertale is an Experience, okay.
Is Kylo allowed to tell when they're lying or hiding something? Sure! Frisk isn't exactly the best at hiding a secret since they are literally nine, but they do keep a pretty good outward lid on things.

It doesn't actually work here, but Frisk has a power innate to humans in their world called Determination, which in high enough quantities can allow a person to travel in time back through the use of SAVE and LOAD. This power can also theoretically be harnessed into different forms, but the RESET mechanic is the instinctual use for it, and the only one Frisk knows how to do on command right now.

Can Kylo sense their general aura? Yes! He is filled with bitterness, anger, and resentment towards almost everyone around him (especially if they're stronger than him)
On a sliding scale of light-to-dark, where does your character fall, and can Kylo notice this? Welll I'm going to say he's more towards the dark side but not all the way there? He has a general lack of empathy - for example for those who are weaker than him - but he's not incapable of caring about and protecting people. He's just very questionable about the way he'd go about it, or most things really. I'd say he's teetering at this point with leaning towards the dark side. And yes Kylo is free to notice this. He doesn't really hide his opinions because he doesn't see them as wrong.

Can Kylo sense their general aura? Yep! Go wild. Bel's a conscientious-yet-impulsive person of deep feeling and sincerity and a cheerfully sarcastic sense of humor.
On a sliding scale of light-to-dark, where does your character fall, and can Kylo notice this? ...Where do you put impulsive aggression and warfare in the name of potential peace and human rights? Bel is a career mercenary who's seen a LOT of death, and caused a fair amount of it, perfectly willing to strike an enemy down for a cause or to save others, or to be someone else's hand in doing so. At the same time, Bel believes strongly in human autonomy and individuality, following the rules of war, striking only at soldiers who knew what they were getting into, minimizing casualties, saving innocent lives, humane treatment of prisoners, etc. Lives lost to a conflict are to be regretted; lives wasted over one are unconscionable.
Is Kylo allowed to tell when they're lying or hiding something? Depends how that works. Bel can lie without a flicker or a qualm or a moment's guilt if given reason to, but in general is more likely to simply omit information (also without a qualm). It's as much habit as anything else -- military-minded security and all.

If there needs to be a reason he'd pick someone else to rummage, it's frequently very NC-17 in there due to a very sexualized culture back home.JEDI MIND TRICKS Y/N? That's an unexpectedly complicated question. Bel's very physically centered, likely to believe what seems to be normal sensory data, and to trust an ally under normal circumstances. However, Bel also has an alert and suspicious nature, and will probably be briefed on the Jedi and their potential powers very early in the month. If something about mind trick doesn't make logical sense, Bel may be grounded enough in reality to question perceptions imposed from outside. We can talk if it comes up!

Can Kylo sense their general aura?
Oh, totally, go for it. Link's general aura would be like a little bundle of Hero. He's just an all-around Good Guy who genuinely wants to Help People, and even though he's fairly quiet and sometimes a doormat, he has a backbone of steel. Plus, he both is and isn't his age -- still a kid, but there's been some weird timey wimey shenanigans that forced him to mature very quickly.

Kylo is welcome to notice that Link is LIGHT AF. He's extremely motivated by others, self-sacrificial to a fault. He's driven by duty, but underneath that, he's also driven by a need to prove himself as being Good and Having Worth. He really wants to feel like he belongs, but he never does.
Is Kylo allowed to tell when they're lying or hiding something?
Heckie yeah. And he's actually prone to trying to hide things a lot. He doesn't really lie? But he tries to deflect away from talking about the things that have happened to him.

Oh man. If this ever comes up, I'm totally down with it. Given Link's Hero Spirit (I'll talk about that below), that might end up going weird? Not so much Link turning it around on him (idk what all doing that would entail so I'll just err on the side of no), but Kylo might get more than he bargained for if he's just expecting a 10yo kid.

I don't mind Kylo trying, but it likely wouldn't work out, 'cause Link definitely has a strong mind and will. He's susceptible to thoughts like "doing X will help person Y," though, so that might be worth exploring?

I wanna say Results May Vary on this one? Mostly for the sake of what might be fun in a thread at any given time. Let's deffo talk this one out if it ever comes up!

HOOOOOO BOY. Okay, so. First, I'll go into Link's powers and how he uses them, but then I'll talk about the Hero's Spirit.
Link has innate magic that he can tap into and channel outward through magic items. This way, he can add magic to his sword spins for extra damage, charge up magical arrows, so on and so forth. He doesn't know how to use magic without the items, though. He also has basic precognition abilities, manifesting through dreams, and he's sensitive to when the balance between good and evil is being messed with. That isn't something he can consciously control, but for the powers that he can, he uses them for self-defense and in the defense of other people.
So. Hero's Spirit. Basically, a long long long time ago, a different Link was cursed to have his Heroic Spirit reincarnated over and over, always fated to Fight Evil. This Link has that Heroic Spirit. In addition, he's the chosen bearer of the Triforce of Courage. If you're unfamiliar, the Triforce is an artifact made from deific power that, when whole, can grant the wishes of anyone who touches it, even going so far as being able to shape the world. (It's said if someone evil touches the Triforce, then the world will be turned into a desolate wasteland, and if someone good touches it, then it'll turn it into a chosen land instead, etc.) Aaaand Link's soul has been selected as the Triforce of Courage's favorite person. Yep.
And, if Kylo could pick this up, there's also all of the crazy time shenanigans. Given that he was kept in a stasis for seven years, spat out as a teenager, went back and forth between the past and the future for a while, before finally being sent back to his childhood for good, and in the process of all of that, his world's timeline was broken into many fun-sized pieces. And THEN, as if that wasn't bad enough, he fucked off to another land where he got stuck in a groundhog day loop from hell... that HE triggers the reset of... yeah.

Depends on the stuff in question. The Ocarina of Time really shouldn't get wrecked, since it can't be replaced, and certain masks might be magical and so weird things might happen, but let's shelve this one under "let's figure it out when we get there," too.

Yes: She's a ball of insecurity, abandonment issues, resentment, and fear.

Dark: Aspiring killer and giant space racist. Tries to help out humans but mostly out of spite - she was raised to replace the savior of humanity she was cloned from, but said savior told her she'd killed more humans than she'd saved. That said, she's sent people to their deaths (sent mercenaries after someone far stronger) without a thought, but hasn't physically taken lives herself.

Yes: It's constant, because she's pretending to be the real Commander Shepard. (At this stage I would prefer that he doesn't blab it to the whole ship.)

At the moment no, mostly because I'm doing a longhaul plot about her identity theft, but I may come back and edit later. (I'm okay with surface stuff though, which is usually along the lines of "can't let people know I'm not Shepard".)

She's a biotic, which mainly functions like telekinesis but with dark energy; however, she's actually only trained to use her biotics to tear something apart. They come from Rubbish Scifi Madeup Mineral (element zero) nodules throughout her body, controlled mentally (she has a brain implant for this) and with physical mnemonics.

On a sliding scale of light-to-dark, where does your character fall, and can Kylo notice this? Heheh... sure, go ahead. Len is the most ambigious of grey right now, though. He likes to think of himself as a bad guy, but he's been doing a lot of heroic stuff lately. That "there's good in you" speech got to him, though he won't admit it.

Can Kylo sense their general aura? Yup! Zam’s got a pretty impulsive, confident energy about them. He’ll probably also be able to pick up some negative emotion bubbling beneath the surface as well though -- Zam has a lot of hang-ups about their death and their time on the Moira has been far from 100% peachy.
On a sliding scale of light-to-dark, where does your character fall, and can Kylo notice this? Probably at the middle or close to it. Zam’s a hired killer who’s motivated by the promise of money and adventure, but they’ve also been known to stick their neck out to do the right thing from time to time (they’ve stopped a terrorist group from killing millions of civilians on Coruscant even though they knew they’d receive no reward or recognition for it, swooped in to save Jango from a future of slavery and torture even after he left them for dead, and always sends a good chunk of their earnings back to freedom fighters on their homeworld). They also have a soft spot for kids and are actually pretty easy to get along with so long as no one’s hired them to kill you.

They made extensive use of this ability as a bounty hunter, but on a more day-to-day basis, they use it more or less casually based on how they want to look on any given day. Pretty much everyone on the ship knows they’re a changeling, so they don’t bother hiding it. However, due to negative experiences the crew has had embarking to planets before, Zam does still use their shapeshifting to disguise themself when they’re planetside.
They also make limited use of their shapeshifting in combat, particularly their unique ability to shift their skeleton as well as their flesh and skin (an ability not found in other Clawdites and a source of much xenobiological speculation after their death in EU canon). They generally only use this ability defensively, for example to prevent an opponent from twisting their ankle by altering how the joint fits together.

Can Kylo sense their general aura? Sure! Light is as calm and level-headed as he appears. Maybe just a touch more suspicious of everyone than he lets on.

He has very little interest in personal gain or power, and has accepted his limitations in life. However, his little sister his is berserk button, and he is capable of getting extremely violent and taking revenge on her murderer. This technically hasn't happened (multiple timelines), but the potential is there. However, Light uses his psychic ability for good.

Light is an esper, which means he can use the power of morphogenetic fields to receive and transmit information. He does this almost exclusively with his little sister, with whom he is powerfully linked. Without getting too far into theory of morphogenesis and the plot of the Zero Escape franchise (maybe energy fields surround living things, and if you screw with people enough sometimes they'll be able to transmit knowledge/thoughts/memories/a projection of themselves across time and space!), I'd say Light would present as someone who's Force sensitive. He can feel things, sense echoes of things that have happened or receive information if it's powerfully transmitted, but does not have the power to directly influence things alone. However, since he and his sister communicate psychically, I think he would be sensitive enough to understand if someone else was poking around his mind.

Honestly, Clara probably lies on a really good tipping point of being in the middle of light/dark. She can be selfless and considers herself a hero, but we see her go to some really dark places that include betrayal, attempted murder, and nonstop lying in order to justify doing what she wants. She gets angry very easily, and can be pretty vindictive and hostile when she's angry or upset. But she also does a lot of heroic self-sacrifice to save other people so she's a big mess, okay.

Can Kylo sense their general aura? I'm not sure how to answer this! L is intelligent, observant, pragmatic, skeptical, and extremely private. His intentions towards others are not usually bad, unless he thinks someone is A Problem. (A major risk to others.)

L is on that little point on the diagonal between Neutral Good and Chaotic Neutral. Definitely more light than dark, but his motives are not always pure, and his methods can be shady and harsh. On the other hand, he's not ego-driven at all and he generally works on the side of "good" if one is identifiable.

Most of L's lies are basically self-preserving: he simply doesn't want to give people a ton of true information about himself, because in his experience, it's "unsafe" or "unwise." He and Kylo have the same job on the ship, and most of his lying that isn't pure self-preservation or harmless joking around would be in service of that job.

He has a genetic mutation that's made him stronger and more durable, check out the permissions info for the abilities section there, but he's general a physically enhanced human, but nothing Force-like, no mind powers. It's usually used to hurt people, or defend himself (which he does by hurting people fdklsjg). The Force would effect him like it would anything else, Kylo just might want to use more of it for the fact he has more strength to put into resistance? And he sort of goes batshit levels of resisting any time he's manhandled/held down/whatever. So, yes.
I lied. One more question. Can Kylo destroy your character's stuff? Lmfao, go for it, expect him to be pissed. Andyr doesn't have a lot of personal stuff, probably the only thing I'd say no on is any books he picks up (because they sort of keep him sane), and any aquarium he might end up with eventually (bc fish are his babbies, he's weird)

Is Kylo allowed to tell when they're lying or hiding something? Sure. Though he's not likely to do so. He's more of the "lie by omission" type.
This is a big one: is Kylo allowed to use the Force to rummage through your character's thoughts and/or memories and extract information? If you think he could do so to a robot, I'm good with that.

Well, compared to human, he's 12-13 feet tall, made of metal, physically stronger, can change shape (though Rung doesn't), and Rung is basically a walking Bag of Holding. As far as special powers go? None. At least none that canon has revealed yet, there are still mysteries around his alt form.

He can try to but Jean will def sense him and will shove him out (he may see this mentally in the form of a bird of fire). He is also free to sense Jean if she tries to do the same with him.

Finally, does your character have any special powers beyond that of a baseline human? She's a Class 5 mutant with powerful telepathy and telekinesis as part of her abilities. Basically, she could easily be confused for someone that is Force sensitive.
